The Wizard’s Wardrobe - where reading is magic!
Registration
We are now registering students for the 2023-24 school year.
Times
We are open 2-5:30 pm. A tutoring session lasts 1-1⁄2 hours. We ask students to come twice a week. We work in collaboration with several other programs in order to give parents full-week, after-school coverage. These other programs include the YMCA, Boys & Girls Club, and South End Children’s Café.
Information
Students living and/or attending school in the South End of Albany are welcome to walk through the Wizard's Wardrobe and enter the magical world of reading. New student registration preferably is for first and second graders, but older grades will be considered. Tutoring continues through 5th grade.
Location
Wizard's Wardrobe is located at 20 Rensselaer Street, one block from Giffen Elementary School. Giffen students are escorted here two days a week. Other transportation arrangements are made for students attending other schools.
